No, I don’t think so since I just finished building it… But I figure it’s got at least 30 beautiful pommelle Sapele sets in it. It’s 4 inches thick and the figured part is about 14 inches wide the whole length of the board. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I mean… you could make a table out of MDF with the same functionality…;) |

Why not rip about 8-1/2” off of each side and continue to use the remaining bit as a table? Loving the belt sander in the corner… M |

It is a lovely table! Just out of interest, what are the legs made of? |

Loving the belt sander in the corner… M That tool was mostly useless and blew dust everywhere...I bought a 6" Festool Dual Action (in aggressive mode) sander and armed with a 36 grit disc and the Festool vac hooked up made short work of the 1/4" deep circular saw marks on both long edges What a tool!...I also bought a Makita 10" circular saw to cut the ends square. |

Just my opinion (you asked for ours): I think the table is lovely, and it looks to be functional. I see no good reason to cut it up for guitar wood. You have other wood for guitars, and you either need or want a table like this, so why chop shop it? I’m in the “ leave it be” camp. Beautiful work, by the way, but the work you show us is always beautiful. |

I guess I'll bite and contribute my 2¢ pre disclosure: I was guilty of the exact same thing when I partook in the process of making my 35 year old flamed maple dining table... what you're guilty of is having one really piece of uniquely beautiful wood mixed in with wood that it doesn't really match and you are realizing that you should have used it for something else... as far as MDF being used...just what the heck are you stuffing in your pipe d00d? ![]() MDF for something that will get exposed to water, food leavings and drips, perhaps hit with a knife??? seriously??? |

Even though the figure part is on one side would never consider it mis-matched-it's beautiful just as it is. I believe The comment about the MDF was a joke... |

And I was being fairly facetious in pointing out the obvious about MDF ![]() Are those metal braces made for that use or are they appliance pulls you bent and repurposed? |

They were the braces from the old table-I had to move them don and cut the top of the legs to compensate for the added thickness of the top. |
